HARDWOOD LOCUST SPLIT RAIL
Our hardwood locust split rail fence is constructed with 100% hardwood horizontal rails and locust posts. All line and corner posts are tamped into the ground 10’ on center. Gateposts are set 32” deep in concrete. Our gates are custom built with 1x4 spaced cedar boards and stainless steel nails to prevent bleeding. We build our gates from cedar because hardwood locust is a much heavier wood and a gate constructed of this material would sag after a short period of time. This often makes opening and closing the gates difficult.
